Who can vote for Gabriel Morningstar?

Only registered voters living within District 2 can vote for Gabriel Morningstar. In the past, all residents voted for all council members; now, you only vote for the representative who lives in your specific neighborhood.

Why is Gabriel Morningstar running for City Council?

Gabriel is running to ensure that the residents of District 2 have a dedicated advocate at City Hall. With a background in housing advocacy (serving on the board of the Sacramento Community Land Trust) and local community organizing, Gabriel is focused on making Rancho Cordova affordable, safe, and transparent for everyday families.

What are Gabriel’s top priorities for our district?

  1. Housing Affordability: Leveraging his experience in housing advocacy, city government and property management to find local solutions for the rising cost of living.
  2. Ensure the surplus goes back into the community. Reinvest into our youth and elderly. Care for our most vulnerable to build resilience and deepen community.
  3. Improve traffic and public safety, walk-ability and bike-ability. Increased lighting and safer streets.
  4. Community Empowerment: Ensuring our district’s diverse voices—including our 27% Latino population—are represented in city policy.

Is Gabriel Morningstar involved in the community?

Yes. Gabriel has served on the board of the Sacramento Community Land trust, as the Secretary for the Sacramento Latino Democrats and volunteered with the League of Women Voters. He has a proven track record of supporting local initiatives like More Life Academy and urban agriculture projects in the region.
