City Council Districts

In October 2023, the Rancho Cordova City Council transitioned from an at-large system to a by-district election model to comply with the California Voting Rights Act. This change requires residents to vote only for a candidate who lives within their specific district rather than the entire city. While Districts 1, 3, and 4 held their first such elections in 2024, District 2 and District 5 are scheduled for their inaugural by-district elections on November 3, 2026.
